Yukiya Sato wins Summer Grand Prix in Hinzenbach

2021-09-27 · 11:31

The Japanese Yukiya Sato and Ryoyu Kobayashi secured first and second place in Hinzenbach. Karl Geiger from Oberstdorf jumped to third place.

It looked on Saturday after the 1st round as if Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi would secure the victory in the penultimate Summer Grand Prix. However, he lost some valuable meters in the second jump and slipped back to second place (90.5 and 87 meters; 245.1 p.). The victory went to his teammate Yukiya Sato with jumps of 91 and 87.5 meters (246.7 p.). Third place went to Karl Geiger from Oberstdorf with jumps of 85.5 and 88 meters (244.2 points).

The Bavarian Andreas Wellinger also presented himself strongly. The 26-year-old jumped to 89.0 meters in the first round and was in third place at the halfway point. In the final round he slipped to fifth place, but was still happy.

We are looking forward to the next and last Summer Grand Prix jumping in Klingenthal (01.10.21).
