The ski jumping world deeply misses the sports photographer Hans Rauchensteiner.
The Four Hills Tournament mourns the loss of one of its most important photographers: Hans Rauchensteiner. The multi-award-winning Munich-based sports photographer died completely unexpectedly at the age of 72 over the weekend.
"This news makes us incredibly sad. Hans was one of the most loyal companions of the Four Hills Tournament. With his pictures, he staged our event as well as hardly anyone else. Our thoughts are with his wife Hanne and his relatives", says Johann Pichler, President of the Four Hills Tournament.
Especially at the German stations in Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Hans Rauchensteiner was always on site during the past 50 years. The Four Hills Tournament was a matter of the heart for him and also a welcome change from professional soccer every year. "Hans was not only an outstanding photographer, but above all a very fine person. We will miss him," says Ingo Jensen, press officer of the Four Hills Tournament.go back

Dr. Peter Kruijer from the Oberstdorf Ski Club is the new President of the Four Hills Tournament. The presidents of the partner clubs from Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck and Bischofshofen appointed the 63-year-old as successor to Johann Pichler (Bischofshofen), who held the office for the past three years. At the same time, the office of the Four Hills Tournament will also move from Bischofshofen to Oberstdorf.
