First World Cup after the Tournament in Zakopane

Only one week after the furious final of the 71st Four Hills Tournament the next World Cup weekend of the ski jumping season took place in Zakopane, Poland. Tour winner Granerud continued his winning streak.

Saturday - Team Jumping

Saturday was the first team competition of the winter for the ski jumpers. After eight jumps the Austrian team consisting of Daniel Tschofenig, Michael Hayböck, Manuel Fettner and Stefan Kraft won by a razor-thin margin ahead of the team from Poland. Only one point separated Kamil Stoch, Piotr Żyła, Paweł Wąsek and Dawid Kubacki from victory. 7.1 points behind the winning team the German quartet with Markus Eisenbichler, Philipp Raimund, Karl Geiger and Andreas Wellinger secured third place.

Sunday - Individual Jumping

The usual suspects of this World Cup season dominated the individual competition on Sunday which was characterized by wind interruptions. Four Hills Tournament overall winner Halvor Egner Granerud won narrowly with 1.1 points ahead of Tour runner-up and overall World Cup leader Dawid Kubacki. Stefan Kraft from Austria completed the podium 9.2 points behind the winner.
