Individual Jumping Normal Hill
The Olympic Games in Beijing 2022 are open and so is the first men's individual event from the normal hill. 104.5 and 99.5 meters are enough for Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi to win the exciting final. The first ski jumping gold medal is thus awarded. Manuel Fettner, the 36-year-old Austrian jumps to silver and his first Olympic medal. Bronze goes to Dawid Kubacki, who has rediscovered his form just in time for the Olympics. Marius Lindvik and Karl Geiger, who were among the favorites after the last World Cup stations, showed a weak performance. The Norwegian jumped to seventh place and Karl Geiger only to 15th place.
One more year to go before the time has finally come: Starting in the 2023/24 season, a women's Four Hills Tournament is to be held for the first time. This was agreed by the Austrian and German Ski Associations together with the FIS.
Slovenian Championships? No, World Cup final in Planica. But this weekend clearly belonged to the Slovenian ski jumping team! On day one they managed a 4-fold victory, on day two the team victory and on day three the places 3 - 6. We take our hats off!
