The Olympic Games have begun for the ski jumpers. Ryoyu Kobayashi secured gold on the normal hill in Beijing, Manuel Fettner and Dawid Kubacki silver and bronze.
Individual Jumping Normal Hill
The Olympic Games in Beijing 2022 are open and so is the first men's individual event from the normal hill. 104.5 and 99.5 meters are enough for Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi to win the exciting final. The first ski jumping gold medal is thus awarded. Manuel Fettner, the 36-year-old Austrian jumps to silver and his first Olympic medal. Bronze goes to Dawid Kubacki, who has rediscovered his form just in time for the Olympics. Marius Lindvik and Karl Geiger, who were among the favorites after the last World Cup stations, showed a weak performance. The Norwegian jumped to seventh place and Karl Geiger only to 15th place.
The winners of the last day of competition: Granerud and Kraft. Both athletes delivered outstanding performances and were celebrated as winners in the end. Stefan Kraft secured the day's victory with spectacular flights, while Halvor Egner Granerud was able to celebrate the overall victory at RAW AIR and the early win of the overall World Cup.
The second stop of the Raw Air Tour 2022/2023 took place in Lillehammer and offered the spectators spectacular jumps of the best ski jumpers in the world. Norway's Halvor Egner Granerud was able to extend his lead in the Raw Air ranking, while Poland's Dawid Kubacki celebrated his first victory in Lillehammer.
The first stop of this year's Raw Air Tour of ski jumpers took place in Oslo last weekend. The Norwegian capital welcomed the best jumpers in the world for an intense competition, where points and prize money were at stake. Lanisek and Kraft prevailed with strong performances.
