2024-03-18 · 10:00

Austrian Stefan Kraft is the man of the season: In Vikersund he crowns himself as the overall winner of the season.

The last stop of this year's Raw Air was the ski flying competition in Vikersund. Peter Prevc from Slovenia won the qualification on Friday. He took the lead ahead of the two Austrians Stefan Kraft and Daniel Huber.

The flying on Saturday had to be canceled due to strong wind and snowfall and was made up for in a round on Sunday.

Sunday - 1st Individual Flying

The first Ski Flying World Cup in Vikersund took place on Sunday. Stefan Kraft once again secured first place, which also meant that he was able to secure the crystal globe for the overall World Cup winner ahead of time and could no longer be caught by Japan's Ryōyū Kobayashi in the remaining jumps. It was Kraft's 13th World Cup victory of the season and his third overall World Cup win.

Second place went to Kraft's team-mate Daniel Huber. He flew to the day's best distance of 247.5 meters. Domen Prevc from Slovenia completed the podium.

The 51-year-old Kasai Noriaki also secured World Cup points once again, finishing in 27th place and making history. Never before has an over 50-year-old taken part in ski flying.

Sunday - 2nd Individual Flying

The second World Cup saw three rounds, with only the best ten of the day reaching the final round. He therefore secured victory at the end of the Raw Air with 689.2 points. He was followed by Stefan Kraft (671.9 points), who not only won the overall World Cup that day, but also the Raw Air Tour. Timi Zajc from Slovenia came third (633.0 points).

The overall standings of the Raw Air after the last flight were the following: Stefan Kraft clearly won with a total of 2494.7 points ahead of Peter Prevc (2369.1 points). The Slovenian thus crowned his final season with a strong result. Daniel Huber was able to make up places in the Raw Air classification thanks to his performance over the weekend and secured third place.

To the overall ranking of the Raw Air

Next weekend (March 21 to 24), the last competition of the 2023/24 season will take place in Planica with two ski flying competitions and one team flying competition.
