Stephan Leyhe announces retirement
Stephan Leyhe has announced that he will end his ski jumping career after the World Cup in Lahti.

He made his World Cup debut in December 2014 under coach Werner Schuster and quickly became a key member of the German team. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, he won silver in the team competition.
He participated in the Four Hills Tournament ten times, with his greatest achievement being third place in the overall standings in 2018/19. In 2019, he also won the World Championship gold with the team in Seefeld.
On February 8, 2020, Leyhe celebrated his first and only World Cup victory in Willingen – a moment he will always remember. At the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, he also won a bronze medal with the team.
Now, Leyhe will compete in his final World Cup in Lahti. "There have been many wonderful moments in my career that I will always cherish," said the 33-year-old.
Alongside Leyhe, Markus Eisenbichler is also retiring from the sport. Together, they won the Team World Championship title in 2019. Leyhe leaves the sport as a consistent and respected athlete.
