January 6th 2025
The Austrian winning streak continues at the fourth and final stage of the Four Hills Tournament in Bischofshofen.
In front of 14,300 spectators on the Paul-Außerleitner-Schanze, Daniel Tschofenig not only wins the Three Kings competition, but also secures overall victory in the 73rd Four Hills Tournament. Tschofenig, who was still in fifth place in the first round, jumped a strong 140.5 metres in the second round.
It became particularly exciting and dramatic when only Stefan Kraft, the best of the first round, was still on the beam. Due to the wind conditions, there was a long interruption. Kraft was then unable to build on his strong first jump, meaning that both the day's and overall victory went to Daniel Tschofenig.
In the overall standings of the tour, the Carinthian beat his team-mates Jan Hörl (2nd place) and Stefan Kraft (3rd place).
Ten years after the last Austrian overall victory in the Four Hills Tournament by Stefan Kraft, the title has once again gone to an Austrian. Tschofenig also set a new points record.
Tschofenig also retains the yellow jersey in the World Cup rankings. The World Cup continues on 18 and 19 January with the jumping events in Zakopane (Poland).
