The tourist resort of Oberstdorf

One of the most famous vacation resorts in the Allgäu Alps

The tourist resort of Oberstdorf Oberstdorf is one of the best-known vacation resorts in the Allgäu Alps. The snow-sure winter sports resort is considered the German Mecca for winter sports enthusiasts and, with its network of over 200 kilometers of hiking trails, is not only the southernmost spa and recreation resort in Germany in summer, but also one of the most popular.

In winter, a vacation here is more than just a dream in white. Snow and ice fun in all its facets awaits visitors. The wide range of winter sports activities really leaves nothing to be desired. Whether in the cross-border Oberstdorf-Kleinwalsertal ski region, winter hiking or cross-country skiing: every winter fan will find something to suit them here.

Venue for international winter sports competitions

Oberstdorf also owes its outstanding position in winter tourism to the numerous international winter sports competitions and its active, world-famous athletes. Oberstdorf is home to the world of winter sports. Since the winter of 1952/53, the Schattenberg ski jumping hill has captivated the crowds just before the turn of the year with the traditional opening competition of the Four Hills Tournament.

Numerous other World Cup events in Nordic combined, women's ski jumping and cross-country skiing also attract thousands of visitors to Oberstdorf every year. In addition, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2021 have also left their mark in the form of high-quality and state-of-the-art sports facilities.
