Single and Team competition open the Ski jumping summer - German team coach to debut in new role
The elite of ski jumping returns to the hills around the world for the 2019 Summer Grand Prix. Starting off in polish Wisla, the athletes will head to ten ski jumping hot spots to find out about the successor of last years winner Evgenij Klimov (RUS).
For the new coach of the Germans, Stefan Horngacher, the upcoming weekend will be a quite a special thing: Horngacher coached the Polish team around Kamil Stoch, Dawid Kubacki and Piotr Zyla for the last three years. Now he will return to his former "home" for the competitional debut as the boss of the German DSV squad.go back
After the Four Hills Tournament the normal Ski Jumping World Cup continued on this weekend. Two competitions from the normal hill were held in Val di Fiemme, Italy. On both days it was the German Karl Geiger, who was happy about the victory in the end and thus also took the yellow jersey as overall World Cup leader.
The final jumping of the 68. Four Hills Tournament in Bischofshofen not only attracted 15,000 fans to the Paul Ausserleitner hill, but also more than 7 million people in front of the TV screens. The second round thus ended up at number 1 on the hit list of TV ratings.
