Overall World Cup leader Dawid Kubacki wins the qualification for New Year's Ski Jumping in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Second and third place went to the two Slovenians Anže Lanišek and Timi Zajc.
At the second stop of the 71st Four Hills Tournament in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Poland's Dawid Kubacki prevailed in the qualification with the longest jump of the day on 140.5 meters. Anže Lanišek from Slovenia jumped 138 meters and was only 1.2 points behind the qualification winner. His compatriot Timi Zajc jumped half a meter further than Lanišek but had to admit defeat to him due to better wind conditions. The leader of the overall Tournament ranking, Halvor Egner Granerud, finished in sixth place after his jump on 134.5 meters. The Norwegian will compete against Poland's Stefan Hula in the competition.
