2021-02-08 · 12:11

Halvor Egner Granerud again left the competitors behind in Klingenthal. The overall World Cup leader won the competition on Saturday as well as on Sunday.

Saturday

Halvor Egner Granerud once again underlined his world class form and showed two strong jumps with 140.5 meters and 141.5 meters. The competition could not keep up with that, although Bor Pavlovcic even showed the longest jump of the day with 142.5 meters. Nevertheless it was only enough for the Slovenian to finish third, Kamil Stoch came in second. The German jumpers did not have such a successful Saturday. Although Pius Paschke achieved an excellent result with 7th place, 9th place for Markus Eisenbichler, 25th place for Constantin Schmid and 28th place for Martin Hamann were not enough in the overall result. Severin Freund and Karl Geiger even missed the second round.

To the official result.

Sunday

Granerud should also triumph on Sunday, but this time the final result was really close. Because the weekend's surprise jumper Bor Pavlovcic presented himself in excellent shape with 140 meters and 146 meters. Nevertheless, in the end 0.7 points were missing on Granerud. After 3rd place the day before it was still a great weekend for the Slovenian. Third place on Sunday went to Markus Eisenbichler, who was visibly pleased with the result. Martin Hamann (10th), Pius Paschke (14th), Severin Freund (21st) and Constantin Schmid (22nd) also showed solid performances in the top 10. Karl Geiger ran behind his form also on Sunday and missed the 2nd round again. 123.5 meters were only enough for 38th place.

To the official result.
